Sandy Jamieson

Sandy Jamieson has been a PGA professional for more than 30 years. Over that period he has travelled the world coaching high profile professional and amateur players. Upon his return to his home town of Melbourne he took on the mantle of head pro at Commenwealth Golf Club which is located in the Melbourne Sandbelt.

After a number of years Sandy became disillusoned about the traditional pathways to golf - masterclasses and clinics just didnt cut the mustard any more. He resolved to try something a bit different and took on the responsibility of breathing renewed life into the municipal facility at Oakleigh Golf Club in Melbourne.

Here, through the auspices of his 1Club philosophy, Sandy has returned to the origins of the game focussing on access, affordability and inclusion. 1Club has been a real success in developing a different pathway into the game of golf for many people who never saw themselves as golfers before - within the first 15 minutes of attending a lesson with Sandy, they are out on the golf course enjoying each others company, playing golf, taking care of the course and keeping up with the group in front of them.
