Ryan Noades is the Managing Director of The Addington Golf Club a heathland golfing oasis located in South London. The Addington was founded in 1913 and was once coloquilally known as Royal Addington due to the number of Royals, Peers and Marquises amongst its membership.
Ryan's family has owned the Addington since 2006 and would often be found during half term hanging out with the green keepers and marvelling at the improved turf quality that assiduous tree removal facilitatated.
A Chartered Surveyor by education, Ryan eyes were initially opened to classical golden age strategic golf design through membership of the Chartered Surveyor's Golfing Society which had annual visits to courses such as Sunningdale, St George's Hill, Swinley Forest & Woking. These visits confimed to him that a very special opportunity was presented to the Noades family with regard to the restoration of their own course at Shirley Church Road.
He has been spearheading a faithful restoration of an original Abercromby and Colt creation since 2019 with the assistance of Clayton De Vries & Pont, Conor Walsh & Associates and a myriad of other experts who continue to refine and recapture the majesty that The Addington exhibits in spades.
