Gavin Caldwell was born in Derry, initially perfecting the game of golf at the Northwest Golf Club at Lisfannon Co. Donegal.
Gavin is a former captain of both the Dublin University Golf Club and the Dublin University Golf Society.
He has also held vatious committee positions at both Portmarnock GC and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
He co-wrote From College Courses to Lasting Links which explores the history of Golf at Trinity College Dublin.
